Local celebrity Andrew Chung (meterologist for KVUE News) stopped by the KTEX studio to tape a segment for the student run morning broadcast!  OTE was treated with up to date weather for the week!

Each morning, fourth grade students at Old Town give a sophisticated morning broadcast.  They are responsible for running all the equipment, training new employees and representing OTE!  They let the campus know of any special activities going on, lunch choices for the day, reminders, introduce birthday book club recipients or welcome any guests that might come!

Students in Ms. Whitmire’s language arts class created a public service announcement using the KTEX news studio.  Students wrote and produced their own show to promote the program in order to raiser money for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Old Town students will donate pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, or more, to assist their class in their fund-raising efforts. At the end of the three-week period, the top fund-raising class will receive an Olive Garden lunch (pasta party) in their classroom. (Video has been removed.)

Students have created a public service ad to promote the Giving Thanks Donation Drive organized by Old Town teacher Valorie Hillerich.  Students came to perform and record the PSA using the school’s broadcast greenscreen. (Video has been removed.

5th grader Samantha used a Flip Camera to capture items for sale each Thursday morning in the student council run school store. Her video was then shown on the KTEX morning broadcast to promote the store! (Video has been removed.)
